Badly Torn Pec... help
I was repping 315 last night and the loudest ripping sound happened and my left side gave out, I looked down (luckily had a spot that night) and my left pec was torn bad all up in my shoulder.
Its malformed today, pain isnt too bad. its all black and blue in my upper bicept and and underarm.
Any ideas on rehabbing this fast? I am gonna see an orthopedist tomorrow.
Thanks guys.

Apply an ice pack overnight. That's the only thing you can do until you see your physician tomorrow.
Best of luck.

Thanks man. I have been icing it a lot. Its not as painful as it looks or would seem. It was the loudest noise it was really freaky. My buddy spotting almost threw up from looking at it. Its just the outter rim of the pec thats detached and that goes back up under the armpit into the top of the bicep.

Yeah. Unfortunately with injuries such as these, surgery is most often recommended for complete tears. Let's just hope it isn't as bad as this.

If its as bad as you say, surgery is the option. You can't rehad a severe tear because the muscle needs to be placed back on the bone. Partial tears and mild tears are rehabable. But complete tears (and sounding by the loud tear you heard, it sounds like that's what it is), can only be mended with surgery.

going to the doc today to find out. Its like its the part of the chest up in my shoudler that tore more than anything. the majority of my pec in my chest is untouched.
I bench VERY wide. As wide as an olympic bench will allow so that means I put a lot more stress out there. only my bicep is black and blue and yellow.. so dunno.
hmm

Got back from the doc he said I tore my ligament (not muscle) and it looks like a complete tear. I am getting a MRI. Then off to surgery
