Power Curl
I know I've been out of the whole (professional) powerlifting scene but when in thee blue hell did curling become an event?? I know it's not in wityh your normal powerlifting meets but what the ****? I just saw a video of a 163 pounder setting a world record at 187 pounds but he jerked the weight and leaned way back during the curl...They don't consider that cheating?? That's like your everyday powerlifter getting away with a half squat. It was the goofiest thing I've ever watched...

I always thought power curls (back curls) were a back exercise??? I didn't know they do it in competitions now. Odd.

The powerlifting federation known as NASA have competitions known as "power sports" where the curl is one of the events. But it's a strict curl, that is judged pretty tightly. I don't know what comp you are referring to but NASA's power sports criteria has some pretty strict judging.

Was that the world record for his weight, just double checking cause that weight is laughable, (no offense), but I'm sure many of you guys can do better.

It is a high school competition...I was just browsing around and saw it but from the looks of this curl, I'm pretty sure anyone could lift that weight. Ridiculous...
