    Awful Elbows

So I tried to make a switch to crossfit a few months ago, and as awesome as it was, some of the movements (cleans, overhead squats, etc.) have caused some serious issues in my elbows. I realized crossfit wasn't a good fit for me as powerlifting is just in my blood after so many years. But with the elbow problems I am limited in what I can do for my tri's. I assume it's probably tendonitis and I've had this a million times before...rest will most likely get rid of the problem but can I get a few suggestions on what to do to keep from getting tendonitis ALL the time? Any help would be great. Thanks everyone!!

I wanna see what other members have to say about this as well. Have you done any research on TB500? Looks promising

form issues flexibility issues etc etc. Best bet is do some research online to figure it out. Or if you are able to find a good physical therapist they can help pin point the problem and give you the either exercises or stretches needed to correct the problem. It sounds silly, but I get bicep tendonitis from squatting, and the reason behind it is tight shoulder capsules. So i have stretches to fix it, recently I hadn't been doing it and ive been gaining weight and getting more tight so this all the sudden got so much worse as my squat weight increased and the burden on my shoulder increased I developed more problems, so I need to get the flexibility back to keep these things under control. Your best bet would be to fix the underlying problem or at minimum pin point which exercises are giving you the grief.

Physical therapy will definitely help. Don't know why I didn't mention that considering I wanna be one lol

I just read about the TB-500 and am also resaerching Hyaluronic Acid with MSM. This getting older shit suck balls!! I have been doing a lot of therapy for a bad shoulder using bands to stretch, etc. That helped a lot. I'm willing to try just about anything at this point because my weights could be so much better if I could remain consistant. As far as which exersices bother them the most...skull crushers, isolated extensions, overhead DB extensions...and any kind of curl, especially when turning the DBs out. It's like being stabbed.

MSM powder worked great for me. You can also try DMSO gel as well. Work around it and give it time to heal. Curious if you know what your estrogen level is as well.

Light weights fast (dynamic bench) & winstrol can explain the majority of my elbow pain. Cut these out if doing. Get a neoprene sleeve for elbow and just let it heal. Seeing a PT cant hurt.

i would get the elbow sleeves to help, also use A535 or tiger balm or something pre workout to get the blood flowing. i also saw a video online of guys taking a inner tube for a bicycle cutting it so its one long rubber tube then slicing it down the center so its flat and wrapping it tightly around your elbow (from upper forearm to lower bicep) then having someone bend your arm for you( if you can move it yourself it isn't tight enough) its helps brake up the inflammation in the joint and works rather well. if you dont want to use a bike tube you can buy specific rubber "floss" i thin they call it and use that, it can be found on cross fit sights like rogue. also ice works well.

I'm currently doing TB-500 at 5mg per week, and it's not a miracle cure, but it does seem to shorten the time from nasty pain to being good to go (at least good enough).

I use elbow sleeves on all upper body pushing movements, and it greatly helps. I've invested in a Safety Squat Bar, that's immensely improved my once strained relationship with my elbows and biceps. Although that may not be available to you, if you can get access to one, WOW, what an elbow saver.

I've eliminated French Presses/Skull Crushers and stick with cables for triceps exercises. I've also got a Bandbell bar I use in a skull crusher type movement that supplies kinetic energy to my elbow tendons, and it actually has helped a little.

Fish Oil, MSM, and maybe Glucosamine (I take it, but still am not convinced it helps much). Hyaluronic Acid has a mixed verdict, and has a hard time being absorbed in the stomach. Now, studies are finding even injections to troubled joints are inconclusive.

Extra Strength Excedrin 45 min prior to my workouts also help, and if I get really frustrated, then I bring out the Deca .

Joint pain and age. Deca works wonders, when I need I just use 200mg per week plus my normal cycle 2 weeks and the pain is gone. Good luck, John
