So as the title ask, anything y'all have found to relieve slipped/compressed disc.
I was able to push through it for awhile but now I've suffered major strength gains.
Went from a 550lb beltless DL and 500lb squat to 135 squats crippling me. Gf has to put my damn shoes on haha.
I injured it while doing heavy front squats, I twisted when coming up. I've had xrays to tell it is herniated but without a MRI I don't know how far.
Just wondering if I'm doomed to suffer till I can get surgery.
I'd find a local back specialist with a good reputation and go with his/her suggestion...whether it be physical therapy and re-evaluate or surgery. When surgery is necessary, a good surgeon can do wonders.
Will do, have some PT, along with chiro, deep tissue/trigger point: all just temporary relief.

I appreciate the input fellas, certainly need to get the MRI and a specialist opinion. Will try the inversion more frequently, generally also gives temp relief until and load is placed.
Which is the frustrating part, because everything is so counter productive.

the inversion table requires a certain finesse beyond just hanging vertically by the ankles. Even a 45% is not necessary. Just a slight angle, and with a rocking motion, you can realign vertebrae without much effort. When you hear a sound like a knuckle cracking, is when the vertebrae pops back into realignment.Quote:

and with providing relief for a painful disc, sometimes half of a 45 degree (ok, twenty two point five) can provide relief. You can lay there much longer at a 22 as opposed to 90 degrees. the longer you find relief, keep the vertebrae spread apart and provide good separation, the longer you can have optimal blood flow near the disc to aid with repairs and healing. Much of the time, when standing or sitting, the pressure on the disc is sufficient to keep blood flow away and therefore slows healing.

I should say I am going to go to the specialist this week. I haven't gone yet. I have hear good things about the table and it is just another thing I have put off for too long. So, you have to make your back your priority now and take care of yourself. I fully understand your tough attitude I'm the same way. The back is very important to well being
