What would bodybuilders look like today if they still did the old time lifts?

Ok everyone heres the time i ask you to use your noodle:P

I want to know what you think that Modern Bodybuilders would look like
if Joe Weider would have promoted bodybuilding that included the Old
time lifts used from 1900 to the 30's lifts like the one arm bent press, the dumbell swing, the two hands any how,etc etc?

no different than they would have today. the vast amount of exercises we have at our disposal these days cover all the stimulation the muscles need to develop. in another 15 years time whos to say what new innovations will be out there, but id say that the commonplace exercises we use today are superior to the old time lifts, as we have the biomechanical expertise to guide us. if the old time lifts were of more benefit, then surely we would be advised to use them

supplements (aas) and diet have changed physiques more so than lifting techniques.

I myself use the older lifts and training methods from 1900 to the early 1950's,and the older lifts really do work.Mind you i have a thicker mucled waist then what you'll seen on bodybuilders today.

No doubt they work, the majority of them were all compound exercises causing growth. as the average joe, (NOT reffering to the dedicated people on this forum) if you trained back then, you would grow as that was all there was to train with. today however, your average skinny boy that joins a gym focuses all his time on isolation exercises coz that's what he saw the pro's do before their contest on some video. they don't even know that pro's have an off season.

There actually used to be a lifting portion (mandatory) of each bodybuilding show, then it was removed and done seperately (most competitors still did both though)...then it just faded off from bodybuilding entirely.

Many people think it was good to split the strength and physique competitions. Others say they can't believe that there used to be a "performance" aspect to the physique competition...

Personally, I'm looking forward to the days of 500lb 0% bodyfat competitors, where they just take myostatin inhibitors and don't train, then they're wheeled out on stage because they actually can't walk. Then people will say "I can't believe they used to make these guys walk out on stage unde their own power, and pose...good thing they got rid of that part of the competition..."
