i feel uninformed!

i feel like perhaps im missing something. what is the reason for having an injectable form of b12 or other such vitamins.
What in the world will this provide my orangutan that a pill administered form wont?

maybe i missed the boat and its something hes been missing all his life! i feel rediculus asking this question but I'm too curious to let pride stop me from being informed.

this has been edit for ignorance

actualy B12 cannot be supplimented by oral pill form. It's due to a negative feedback loop .

B12 is essental to any growth.
