I just started working out and want to do a cycle. I'm 40 years old 155 lbs and want to get to 175lbs. I've tried the shakes and eat but it was very little gain. I was thinking Deca 200. Can somebody help I want to do it right.

where is the rest of yours stat's?
Height and BF%?
Deca alone won't be a good Idea.
souds like your problem is a diet, of course at 40 is harder to gain compare to a 18 years old. Post your diet lets take a look what you eating.
first cycle, look into test only and pct chems. Lots of good first cycle logs on here.
