    This ones for the ladies

    Hi Ladies,
I have been a personal trainer for sometime now and I have been asked some really off the wall questions from female athletes over the years. I know that I do not need to tell you the dangerous effects of low iron in your body when your bodyfat is very low and you are menstrating. As you are probably all ready taking a iron supplement during this time, I have listed a few foods that are very high in iron that you might want to incorporate into you diet during this time as well. I hope that it helps.

Food, Amount, Iron(mg), Calories, Cholestrol, Calories
    from fat

Everything will be listed in this order.

    Beans,red kidney,cooked 1 cup, 4.4, 218, 0, 4%

    Beef,ground lean 3 oz, 3.0, 186, 81, 48%

    Beef Sirloin 3oz, 2.5, 329, 77, 74%

    Beef Liver fried 3oz, 7.5, 195, 345, 42%

    Beet greens,cooked 1/2 cup, 1.4, 13, 0, 0%

    Broccoli,cooked,drained 1sm stalk, 1.1, 36, 0, 0%

    Burrito,bean 1, 2.4, 307, 14, 28%

    Egg hard boiled 1, 1.0, 72, 250, 63%

    Farina(Cream of Wheat),cooked 1/2 cup, 6.0, 51, 0, 0%

    Instant breakfast,whole milk 1 cup, 8.0, 280, 33, 26%

    Peas, frozen,cooked & drained 1/2 cup, 1.5, 55, 0, 0%

    Shrimp boiled 3oz, 2.7, 99, 128, 9%

    Spinach,raw 1 cup, 1.7, 14, 0, 0%

    Vegetables,mixed,cooked 1 cup, 2.4, 116, 0, 0%

Now I know that some of these are high in fat, I got the info from an old text book from a Physical Fittness class that I took in colledge. Take a look and disreguard some of the more fatting foods. (Like you would eat them anyway right?)
    Good luck in your cooking.
