Burgers Southern Stlye,
( Teriyaki-seasoned beef and chicken burgers for the barbecue)

3/4 pound skinless ground chicken or turkey
3/4 pound extra-lean ground beef
1/3 cup unseasoned,dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup minced green onions
1 egg white
1/4 cup of ketchup
2 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1-1/2 tsp grated gingerroot
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp seasame oil
6 hamburger buns
Lettuce,sliced tomatoes, and your favorite burger toppings (optional)
In a large bowl, combine chicken,beef,bread crumbs,onions, and egg white. Mix well (useing your hands works best)
In a small bowl, combine ketchup, soy sauce,brown sugar,gingerroot,garlic,and sesame oil. Add 3 tablespoons of this mixture to ground meat, amd mis well. Reserve remaining sauce to brush on burgers while grilling.
Shape meat mixture into 6 patties. Cook burgers over medium hot coals for about 5 minutes per side, or until desired "doneness" is reached. Baste with reserved sauce.
Serve on hamburger rolls with your favorite toppings.
