    Arrow The almighty egg white!

Ok...so I got tired of boiling and peeling 10 eggs a day and really felt bad about throughing out the yolks, so here is what I did.
Get a ziploc bac(preferably freezer grade) and spray the inside with Pam or any nonstick spray. I usually dump in about 250g carton of egg whites(cheaper than whole eggs and no waste) and boil in a small pot of water on med heat for about 7-8 minutes. The result...great egg whites with no peeling and no waste.
I really love this method...try it out guys and let me know what you think.

sounds like a good method m8, u cud do a batch up and take one each day

how can u say that a carton of whites are cheaper than whole eggs tho?

wenever i look the cartons always end up costing more, even if you throw the yolk out of the eggs

I guess it depends on where you shop. At my local grocery store a carton of egg whites(500g) costs about 2.48$ and a dozen large eggs cost 3.29$. Besides even if the carton were slightly more expensive...I don't really enjoy peeling 10 eggs per day. Each egg white is 31.5g. So each egg white from the carton costs me about 0.16$and a whole egg from the carton costs me about 0.27$. Big difference when you eat 250g-500g of egg whites per day, but my calculations could be wrong.

This is simply a cooking method for when you get tired of frying(with nonstick spray of coarse) and omlets etc... Boiled is just more convienient but more work until I tried this method. Give it a shot and get back to me guys.

    Ok m8.

Here in the uk a 1 kg carton of whites is about £3 or $6.

From costco i can get 60 whole eggs for £4 or $8 so to me there is a big difference

In an all whites carton there are 16 servings....1 serving equals 1/4 cup. So it a little more than a dozen, but I enjoy the conveince for one and how it is exactly the same everytime, plus when I do 50/50 mix with egg beaters I get a great tasting egg meal with zero fat

I am going to try the bag trick this weekend

Right shred...but a quarter cup in my cartons are two egg whites. so in a 2 cup carton 8 servings...16 egg whites.
    Just try the bag!!!
    Don't forget to spray!lol

Not sure I want to cook with plastic like that.... the PBDE is really getting a bad rap right now, and if they are right, then PBDE is a test suppressent and/or an estrogen enhancer!
