I prefer making my own venison steak on the grill, just add a bit of season salt and pepper with a little soy sauce. Tastes just like a big thick piece of jerkey.
I actually had a ton of it processed as jerky...I went through it fast. I have a bunch of tender loin, ground meat, stew meat, round steaks. I'm going to live on it this cycle. The nutritional makeup in venison should be perfect for cutting...we'll see!
Thought I'd throw this recipe out there as it is a favorite of mine and great for you! Not sure on the sodium content (I'd imagine a bit high)
Take 1 venison roast add it to the crock pot
Add 1 packet lipton onion soup mix
Add 1 16oz Heinz brown gravy
1/4 cup water
Turn on low for 6-8 hrs. Meat comes out tender as can be and tastes excellent. I will post up the macros when I get home.
