    Doc Advice: Prilosec and Lexipro

Bros, a friend of mine is taking Prilosec for cronic acid reduction. Problem is it bloats his stomach up a bit. Also, he's taking 5mg of Lexipro for mild depression but not finding much difference. I suggested he see a doc and have hormones tested. Will a cycle of test do better than Lexipro for emotional uplift? Will test decrease stomach bloat from Prilosec? Thanks!

I have used a proton pump inhibitor (protonix) in the past...I could eat chocolate covered dog turds & rusty nails...anything, with no problems at all. Actually, it did just the opposite & removed my bloated-gas-acid-reflux reaction to certain food groups.
There are better acid reduction meds..your friend should try one of them. Have the doctor give him a prescription when he goes in for his blood work.

Thanks for the Protonix suggestion. Any thoughts on test for anti-depression?

    Are you nuts? Dont.do.it.

Doctors can analyze all hormones and pinpoint the reason for possible
depression - usually brain chemical related - testosterone is rarely a cause for anyone under the age of 50.
