Whats safer?

Hey bros got a question for ya. I lost my source so I'am in the lookin for a new one. I never order through the mail so it's gonna be something new. Would a mail order source in the US be safer or a source overseas? What do you guys think? There would be a price difference but probably get the gear quicker in the US. If I orderd in the US would my package still have to go through checks like coming overseas? Also to should I open a box at the post office but I don't have a fake ID for that. Any help thanks
