well...PSA tests are not perfectly accurate to begin with...it's possible that perhaps the test is causing your prostate to be inflamed, which would yield a higher PSA
BUT, even a high PSA, usually more than 4ng/ml, is not an accurate reading for detecting prostate probs..i think a pretty low percentage that are Dx w a high PSA, actually have cancer (something like 20-25% or so)
The testosterone probably won't affect your PSA unless you have prostate cancer. Did your doc tell you why he was ordering the PSA? Usually they don't order one for men under the age of 50. You're taking more than enough test cyp since the maximum maintenance dosage is only 100 mg a week and most MD's these days think test is responsible for BPH, (although there are other theories) which will of course raise your PSA. Also having sex within 48 hrs of your PSA test or having a digital exam will raise it significantly. A prostate infection will raise it dramatically but usually you will have symptoms similar to the clap if you have an infection, burning, hard to start urination, --seepage if it's real bad.Originally Posted by davidboy
Sometimes on some people the psa will be elevated by test, not sure why but it does, i personally have never had psa tested while on, only between cycles but may try it next time.
