    Drinking egg whites

Hi there Guy's. I buy my egg whites online and I am struggling with consuming them in my diet. Is it worth while drinking them or will I have to cook them ?

Bro, it isn't worth it to risk your health. Chicken eggs can have a number of food-borne pathogens in them so always cook that stuff.

Here is a quote from the American Egg Board:

"The inside of an egg was once considered almost sterile. But, over recent years, the bacterium Salmonella enteritidis (Se) has been found inside a small number of eggs. Scientists estimate that, on average across the U.S., only 1 of every 20,000 eggs might contain the bacteria. So, the likelihood that an egg might contain Se is extremely small – 0.005% (five one-thousandths of one percent). At this rate, if you’re an average consumer, you might encounter a contaminated egg once every 84 years."

It is a gamble eating them raw. My 2 cents.

I feel you can drink them if you want, and their pasturized.

Pasturized doesn't mean "raw". I believe protein is protein.
So what if you eat a piece of sushi? Since its "raw", are you only getting 50% of its nutrients? I think not. JMO.

How can you pasteurize an egg? Heating it up would denature the protein and cause it to cook right?

The point of pasturization is to rid it of any SE, so as long as their pasturized you should have no problem. I have been buying homogenized and pasturized egg whites and have never been sick once from it. I have been sick from eating food from restaurants, I have been sick from touching infected objects. You are risking getting some type of ailment or food poisoning from anything you eat. Even the steak and chicken breast you cook, hence their is some risk in anything just diminish it.
