Its horrible. Those drains are powerful and fast. i knew a girl that got her hair sucked into one and drowned. There was people there but couldn't pull her up against the drain

There should be a safety mechanism to shut off the pumps. Just like at the gas station. I big red button to smack when your insides are getting pulled from you ass.


It's so sad that the girl will have to be fed by a tube the rest fo her life and wear a colostomy bag.

I blame it on the parents for not paying attention to what was going on.

i dont think one can blame the parents. there was no cover on the drain.......thats not there fault. that and you dont usually go to a pool expecting your daughters intestines to get sucked out her ass.

I think the difference would be that people get hit by cars a little more often than people get their intestines ripped out by a pool drain.

The bottom line is taking a precaution for a minor who has less intelligence than you.

I agree, you can't be too careful where kids are concerned, and after reading this story I will always check the covers before my kids go swimming, but to be honest I wouldn't have considered it before reading this.

I know people with colostomies that eat regular diets - she can still digest food - she just can't get rid of it in the normal way.
