With these recent busts is their any reason i should get rid of my SSB mail account? Obviously I cleaned it out, but is it dangerous to keep?

i wouldnt have thought having one will be a problem, unless u have something in the past in that account that can come back to haunt you. i think the most concerning thing is that the authorities are able to intercept the supposedly encrypted mail.
Relax the bust is over. It will take another 7-8 months to recover from this. There is not enough governmental manpower to bust us little people.
I would delete anything associated with them, that board was destined for trouble, from the SSB staff reading peoples PM's, to open sourcing, just trouble.
Delete any mail(received and sent) that you might have in your hushmail account. It is always better to be safe......Originally Posted by BadBenny

Hey guys, let me ask you this. IF you had at one time a hushmail account thru SSB, but you didnt log in for over 3 weeks and your account was now closed, can LE still read your info?
Thanxs boys,

they don't......jesus christ.....you guys are all so paranoid it's not even funny......law of attraction you attract what you think about most....so concentrate on the fact that your safe and the cops are complete retards and you'll be perfectly fine.....QUIT WORRYING ALL OF YOU!!!!

If they couldn’t get a warrant I suppose they could have attempted to intercept encrypted emails and decipher them, but that would take some manpower which equals $$$. You would have had to been high on their priority list and good at covering your tracks for them to go this route. If that were the case I doubt you would be asking for advise on what to do in an open steroid forum right after a major bust.
IMO, relax. Chances are they already scoped out the people of interest long before making their move.

Way too much speculation about Hushmail accounts. Better to be safe than sorry, and ASSUME that hushmail is not safe, than to assume otherwise and be ****ed.
The most likely event, is that LE gained control of busted labs email accounts, and that is how they have the correspondence in the indictments. As well as the fact that they were probably posing as customers and making buys from the sources. Much easier to do that than get warrants to spy on users email accounts, and have all sorts of civil liberties groups breathing down their throats when they make that info public.
So, if you are a smart person, you will assume that hushmail is compromised and chill out with any potential illegal activity on it.
If you like to gamble with your freedom, you'll continue to ASSume its safe..
Good post.
I think LE posing as customers is a HUGE part of how they busted the sources to begin with.
It even says so on the indictments, although not directly.
On the national security issue and the fact of civil liberties being breeched, looking at the Patriot act, theoretically they can get a warrant pretty easy.
I doubt that every terrorist has used the likes of Hotmail etc, and prefered the more secure mailing system such as Hush.
If that is so, then i would imagine that they have access to Hushmail's servers, not forgetting that they enforce the right to investigate such acts on foreign soil and that they do not legally have to disclose anything to anyone, even the owners. It is against the patriot act to disclose any investigations past or present so if hush was searched they would be in the shit if they went to the press, avoiding the problem with civil liberty groups.
