    Help regarding cardio please

    Hi Guys. I am beginning a lean bulking diet soon but I would also like to burn a little fat along the way so was considering doing some am cardio on an emtpy stomach. I am aiming to lose fat but not muscle so how can I calculate how much effort to put in ? I know it all depends on your heart rate so if I bought myself a watch that could tell my heart rate what should I be aiming for ? I am 26 and intend on using an excercise bike for 45 mins. Hope I have explained this ok

    I might be wrong, but i think you calculate 220- your age 26 so your max heart rate is 194....Please someone tell me if i am wrong Bc this is what i have been doing....

    So 194 is your max and to burn fat you want to stay between 60% and 75% of your max so that you only lose fat and save your muscle....

    When I am bulking, i walk on a treadmill with a 15% incline ( or highest level) For an hour and my heart rate stays between 135 and 155 depending on the speed at which i walk.

    This works great for me. I find the bike aggrevating after more than 10 minutes, but do whats best for you bud.
