    hitting a nerve

I've had a couple injection problems. My first 4 injection sites were 2 different places on my quads. Left leg no problems, the right seems to be a problem. First time I did upper part of left quad in the middle. Then I went to the right, and I hit a nerve and I must have went through a vein because it bled just a little. My leg jumped, it didn't really hurt that much, but it was an unpleasant sort of feeling. So I moved it a little further to the inside and was ok.

So then this week, I did the quad further down, more on the outer part. No problem on the left. I did the right this morning same place and bam, hit another nerve. No vein this time though. It kind of shook me so I had to take a break for a minute. Then I just changed the needle and prepped a new spot near by and got it done.

My next 2 I'm going to do in the glutes.

So I wanted to see if anyone knew where the nerves were in the quads and glutes, or had a picture kind of mapping it out.

Other easy to use injection sites would be helpful too. I have 1.5 inch pins, so I'm not real comfortable hitting delts 1 handed. I thought about pecs, but I've heard people had problems with swelling on those.

How about calves? Mine are pretty big and meaty. Any good places to go there without hitting a nerve?

I was also wondering how often you can hit the same site.

And finally, is there any truth to the muscle you inject getting a little more benefit from the steroids than the rest of the muscles?

I've hit nerves in quads same thing happened. Do the upper outer part half way down, you'll be better off. You may hit every once in a while, but I hardly ever do. I can't twist to reach my butt anymore so I hardly ever inject there. Upper outer is usually good to go though. I love delts, and triceps, and lats. And pecs. The last part of your questions I can't answer but would be interested also. I've heard more absorption occurs through glutes than anywhere but I know I'm not going there, and even when I can sometimes, I still have to alternate anyways.

Good correction (moving to outter thigh), just remember when you do hit a nerve there's no reason to fully extract the pin, instead pull back a little and readjust the angle before pushing to desired depth. Nerves are very small, and can be easily avoided without completely reinjecting w/the now 'used/duller' needle.

Thanks, Magic. You seem to know quite a bit about this sort of thing. What do you think about that thing people say about the muscle you inject in getting just a little more benefit? Fact or fiction?

you want to switch spots you will build up scar tissue in that area....use your quads and delts, wait 6 days to a week between shots in the same area
