Alot of powerlifters dont worry about calves, yea they get some action in the squat, but limited. Either way they are a very very stubborn muscle group for some, at least in terms of hypertrophy.
Your thoughts?
Yes, I train them every week and think its important
Squats and cleans more than enough for them
Only train for a more "complete" look
Rather use recovery ability for other things

I train them for the most part.. when I squated heavy years back there was really no need to train them.. but after tearing up my back multiple times.. I no longer squat and train calves at least once a week.. hate to see them get below 19 1/2 ''...
nope. no need, doest help my squat or pull
I'm a strongman but I do a little powerlifting in between strongman comps. I don't usually train calves because in strongman, truck/sled pulls and pushes give the calves all the stimulation they need.
