its pronounced poo-ket.
i wont be there for another 2 weeks. ill spending most of my time on phi phi, and koh phangan.
not sure why people would speak too highly of it?? if you are in the tourist zone, it sucks. you just get constantly harrased to buy fake shit, or get in a tuk tuk. but its great if you get on a scooter, and go exploring. last time i was there, we found some elephant sanctuary/zoo?? out in the boonies.
