The way i'm filling my syringes right now is giving me 9ml out of a 10ml vail. I take the plunger to say 1 ml and then push any air out then pull the plunger back to 1ml. Is this correct?

Sounds like your vials are underfilled. I don't see u losing 1/10 of your product drawing.
should the sysinge and pin be solid full of gear from the 10ml line to the tip?
Once you push the air out by filling the hub (or "dead space") with oil, 1ml will only come to the .9ml line. This is because the hub takes .1ml to fill. Before you inject, just draw in .3ml of air and inject at a downward angle to get all the oil out (the air bubble will push the oil out of the hub). Don't worry, the air can't hurt you.
^^ yep thats what i do, leave no oil behind!
