They aren't going to test for steroids. When they do "drug screening," they most likely are going to check for heroin, coke, pcp. You know stuff like that.

Who knows what they do, but when I did my life insurance exam, before the nurse took my blood, she specifically asked me if I did any steroids or enhancers or they will detect it.... I passed because I haven't cycled yet.

You have the right to know. Ask them what they are testing you for and how whether
    it be urine or blood.

Yeah I have had life insurance through two employers and never had to give blood. Now on an individual policy it would likely be different since they can charge you more or deny coverage based on any bad labwork but on group policies their motivation is not nearly as great, as far as the women saying she would know about anything you did...I remember them saying the same thing about Santa Claus...

I was denied life insurance because AAS. at the time I was 26 years old healthy, non smoker, non drinker and denied because in my medical file I told my doctor I had taken Anavar. So if you've ever told you Doc you've used AAS or ever plan on telling them, your policy will denied, whether it be now or when you die. These insurance companies don't want to pay out, so after you die, they will rip you medical file apart looking for something to blame or something you lied about so they don't have to pay.

Just a word of advice, but they don't test for it on the original blood work.

All too often, the medical community teams up with the corporate insurers and the result isn't pretty. I would NEVER tell any doctor anything I wouldn't want tattooed on my forehead and printed in the newspaper.

There is no right to privacy when it comes to corporate intrusion into your life, particularly where they can play the steroid card to deny you benefits (and save themselves money).

The self-righteous bastards at hospitals and medical schools will DENY your access to organ transplants because they discover that your smoke pot. These are the facts and if you think anyone plays fair, you haven't been watching or counting the victims from the government and corporate games.

That's true that stuff does go on. At the same time though, if you're not honest with your doctor, especially during a real health scare, how is he going to be able to make the best plan of attack? There really needs to be some medical insurance reform. It's too dangerous to risk withholding information just so you don't lose coverage.

Thanks for posting this, I have been saying this same thing all the time when people come on saying they have an abscess or need blood work and people respond and tell them that they should just go to their doctor and tell him what happened. This is the biggest bunch of nonsense, don't these people know that medical privacy has nothing to do with these types of situations, sure you can tell them that they can not see your medical file and they can tell you they will not write you a policy. LOL
