    Neighbors ugh ....

I don't think I am going to be liking my next door neighbor to much, kinda seems like a prick.
I just bought a new house and was doing some yard work today and I thought I would be nice and cut the grass up to his house since it connects anyway, and he comes back when I'm blowing the access grass off the streets and is like "what happen?" and I'm like "what do you mean?" and he starts going on and on about his grass and how I cut my grass to low and so on, gosh I wish I would of knew there was pricks living right next door from me before I bought the house, so yea fuk his lawn it can grow 10 feet tall for all I care, I'll just report his ass to the HOA, ugh yea I am havng a bad day

Take a breath.... If grass is the biggest problem today, it's a pretty good day.

Some people are real anal when it comes to their property but taller grass does remain greener during drought conditions but needs to be mowed more frequently.

LoL, there are alot of people who only want their lawns mowed they way THEY do it. I have a buddy who won't even let his own kid mow the lawn (thereby saving my friend hours of work) because he says the kid just can't do it right!

Oh yeah, my dad and his lawn... every year there is the silent contest on his street 'who has the best lawn'.

Ill call and he is annoyed because he has a little brown patch from whatever and now is doing whatever to try to fix it...

and hand picking the mushooms from under the tree...

and watering it with fertilizer and soap...

AND the best one yet was when I went down to visit, of all things... he sees a snake in his front yard. Apparently it did NOT belong there. He tells me to go in the house and he'll be right in... hummm dads acting weird (hes 64) so I just say, yeah ok and take a few steps away from the house as he tares into the garage.

Comes out with a garden hoe of all things... stomps across the lawn, to a shaded area and puts the hoe over his shoulder and starts swinging it like an axe!

I thought he had done lost his mind.

Then I see the fight... dad and hoe against snake!

That was the funniest G-damn thing I had ever seen him do.

He swings and misses, the snake darts forward, dad hops back and swings again... misses and hops back a little more... hits it but not hard enough... that battle went on. Eventually the snake was in two pieces.

Satisfied, he puts the hoe over his shoulder and goes into the garage and puts it away.

He comes back out with gloves on and tossed it into the lagoon.

I had to say something at this point... 'dad? what was that all about?' his answer 'there was a snake in my yard and it shouldnt have been there.' And that was the full explination.

He lives in South Carolina and they take their yards very seriously down there. He gets mad because he cant seem to get rid of the chiggers!

Hes got a riding mower also.

When he is not at work, eating, watching sports or sifi or sleeping... you will find him playing in the yard doing something.

Personally I think he would do better with a dog.

Time to put up a small fence between your yard and the neighbors. Only problem is if he does not keep it trimmed it will grow up between. Keep the bottom about 2in off the grass and you should be good. Yeah people get weird about their lawns. I have a pretty ok/nice lawn but I dont put the time into it like a lot of people do. My neighbors put even less. My little one always asks why they have all the pretty yellow flowers and we dont. LOL

My back lawn looks like sh*t right now. I have a couple pine trees and I had to cut the grass down to 1/2 in, thatch it and still rack it 3x before getting most all the little twigs and pine cones out. I spread new seed over the whole thing and a thin layer of top soil in a couple places to fill some low spots so in a couple weeks it should be G2G.

When I was living at home I would always put the blade really low so I wouldn't have to cut the grass as often. My parents hated me, especially because i would jus keep doing it.

And yes, like Lovbyts said: get a fence.

    Good fences make good neighbors.

If you cut my lawn I would probably offer you money to keep doing it. Then again, I am not one of those guys that is psycho about my lawn (when I have one). I see it as a necessary evil if I live in that sort of neighborhood.
