I have an FIR sauna and sometimes sit in it between sets. If you sit in it for 30 minutes at 130 degrees it definitely gets your heart rate up and I feel drained the same way intense cardio does. I know there are a lot of unproven benefits of FIR but I am cold natured and love it. A vigorous sweat is always good but I had to work up to 30 mins at 130. Curious what others with actual experience have to say.

Well, whether one will benefit from the sauna or not depends on what one expects from it.

In my observation, most people who work out at gyms with a sauna prefer to get in the sauna after their lifting and cardio sessions are over, which is a tactical mistake if you ask me. You are supposed to cool down your body to enter a state of recovery, not go into a sauna.

On the good side of things, sauna will help you deplete extra water quickly which comes in handy if you are suffering from holding of excessive water. It helps many professional athletes to go down to their targeted weight by depleting water in a very short period of time for competitive purposes.

Sauna is not for you if you have high BP, anxiety, dry skin related dermatological issues such as eczema (makes it much worse) and so forth.

As for sitting in it for 30 mins, most people cannot handle it.

Lastly, there are some claims that sauna is horrible for male fertility, especially when you sit in it for over 20 mins. and in a repeating manner. I have never really looked into this, but it kind a freaks me out every time I hear it. Doctors have a similar theory about heated car seats too, just not healthy for the boys!

Infertility...? Another bonus for me! And I am using a dry, far infrared sauna, not a wet sauna and it seems to help my BP (cardio), anxiety (relaxing) and dry skin. From the sauna into a cold shower and I am ready to take on the world! No cold shower and it is nap time for me.

I think you are right. I have become a fairly complex guy since I got my FIR sauna.

He might be referring to a biological/physical trait when he says complexion, not necessarily meaning that you are a complex person since you got your sauna.
