What oils do you cook with ?

I have been using a little olive oil to cook my chicken with for years now. Been seeing more and more that olive oil is only good when consumed raw (uncooked) and heating it up is not good for you ? I know to not believe most I read on the internet but was curious what do you guys use to cook with and is there any truth to this ? I know olive oil has a lower burning point but how can it be bad if you cook with it correctly ?

I keep reading to use coconut oil or canola oil to cook with instead.

i posted somnething along time ago showing that the heating olive oil makes it unhewalthy was a total myth. i use extra light olive oil to cook (the extra light stands up to heat better) and also macadamia nut oil at times.

Reheating oils is the problem. EVOO isn't great to stir fry with as you say, lower heating point.

Personally I use rapeseed oil. Think you guys call it canola. Higher cooking temps and more omega 3's than olive oil.

Mife wife started buying unrefined pure olive oil from Jordan $180usd per gallon (closer to a black color than green) . I have to say it tastes much better than the standard evoo or vo you would but at the grocery store. I will post a picture tomorrow to show you

I am familiar. I bought some of this from an olive farm in California a few years ago (prob not as good as that from middle east or mediterranian region). Good flavor in drsessings , on veggies , drizzled over chicken breast etc but i had a harder time cooking with it. Im no food expert but it had a clean , fresh , fruity taste. I have often thought id go online looking to try to buy some again but never have....
