How effective are protein bars ?

Wife bought me some protein bars as part of my christmas. Was wondering if any of you guys have any experience of them, as seem to be an ideal way of increasing protein intake whilst working around a busy work schedule.
    thanks

They taste ok and have around 32g of Protein and 25g of Carbs. I like them, don't see anything wrong with them

I think they are okay when you know you wont have access to a meal or a protein drink such as at a meeting or at an amusement park. I do remember when Pure Protein bar first came out and a lab test was done on it. It had about the same protein, carbs and sugar as a snickers bar. What was claimed on the label was way off.

Uhhh...its food. That's like asking: "how effective is a ham sandwich?".

I wouldn;t buy anything protein based form HB.

Most of it is cheap shit.

Make your own with whey iso.

Plenty of recipes here if you search.

Have not seen that brand, but what I have noticed is you must be very careful to read sugar content and alcohol sugar content on protien bars as many of them are nothing more than a vitamin enhanced candy bar. Meaning just because they have protien/vitamins in them does not make it ok to scarf them down in mass quantities. I dont eat them every day, but I always have some handy. Sometimes I have to wait to go to lunch or I have a sweet tooth that wont go away, I use them as a alternative to a junkfood snack.

Thanks for advice - checked out contents and does seem to be a snickers with added protein - was thinking of looking at the flapjack variety - seem much healthier
