A friend of mine was once employed at a cheese factory and told me that they'd end up with large amounts of whey from the cheese making process which would be sold as big bags of powder. He said this whey powder was very cheap. Id assume that those are the kinds of places that supplement companies buy it before adding coloring, flavoring, sweeteners and whatever else to it and selling it for a huge markup.
Has anyone tried plain whey like that? I'd assume it'd be a healthier way to increase protein intake without the additives (probably not too tasty though) and if I could get a 20 or 25 pound sack for the price of 2lb can of flavored whey protein I could really get behind that.
