Strongman cardio - tyre flipping/ beating

Who does any of this type of cardio? Experiences?

Flipping big tractor tyres, beating them with sledgehammer's etc...

I'm having a few massive tyres dropped off at my house this week so will be having a go soon...

I push sleds and throw a heavy med ball in the chucking motion( just like the sledge). To me the tire flipping is the same as doing smooth cleans at super high intensity with 12-15 rep range. Sometimes I do heavy 5x5 circuit with no rest between sets and 30 sec between rounds, and maybe throw in some muscle ups and sprints in.. I love it. I can get HIIT in with a lot of resistance as well, gets the hear rate way up. Only rest enough to complete the next round. You could also throw some kettleball work in too. I.would have to say they are my favorite for this type of cardio, quick transitions. Melts it off for me.

When I was back in high school they had a tractor tire and some sledge hammers. We would flip it up the field and all the way back. It's a sick workout. I haven't done it in like 5 years though

Call round places that sell reconditioned tyres.... They have to pay to get rid of these big ass tyres... They are free and will even deliver them as it saves on the cost of disposal....

The 1 tyre I'm getting would cost £1000 new!

Back of my house there is an access road for the rear off all the houses on my street.... We can open the gates at the back of my garden and flip them down the access road....

I'm also going to get some sand bags

I was using the tires and ropes for a bit as I was training for a strongman comp. (pulled out due to injury) but I am going to get back on the tire flips pretty soon. For the tire flip is like any other major lift; all about form!

I'm gonna pact one of them out with sand bags or Sumat to add weigh... Will be good actually as they are a pair... Same size same tread etc....

So I did my first cardio session on the tyres yesterday...

3 round of this... A round takes about 2.5 mins... By the end of each round your fukd

    10 tyre flips
10 sledgehammer hits each arm (20 total)
10 jumps in and out of tyre (killer at this point)
10 tyre flips (finisher, this is a killer)

Now today my forearms are fukd lol.... Other than that feel ok so I'm happy... Gonna build the rounds up

No I mean tyres.... I'm British...

Not sure yet on the weight..... Will try and weigh them but I think they will be too heavy for normal scales

Awesome base... Im trying to do 1/2 kickboxing classes per week. Mainly conditioning and flexibility is my goal rather than the fighting itself had a tyre workout last night. I am sore today my friend.

    Rounds were:
8 tyre each a different height. Start at lowest and jump to highest and turn back.
8 tyre smashes with hammer each side.
8 tyre flips using explosive power.

wish i could do this more often but its only used once every week or so at the classes

250 to 280 just thought I would Have a guess mate ,Base if you want to up the weight you could put a tube inside the tyre ,put air in it takes the gap in the tyre up then full with water until you get the weight you want
