    Raloxifene

Read a thread on adolescent gyno (puffy nipples) and it was recommended to use Raloxifene at 60mgs/day until the puffiness goes away. Will this work on someone who is 51 years old? Will it return after stopping the Raloxifene? Are there any significant sides to be concerned with when using Raloxifene?

I also read that Raloxifene can increase test levels. This would only be true on those not on trt?

I honestly don't know. The studies that were done I believe were an average age of 19. If costs isn't the concern, it will not hurt to try it.

Maybe jimmyinkedup will chime in. I highly value his opinions.

    ^^ Thank you Austin,as I do yours.
I do not know definitively but if it would work in any circumstance under these same conditions, its yours. There are 3 age groups associated with gyno development. Infant, adolescent, and over 50. Normally it would be difficult treating gyno r keeping it gone anyway) at over 50 due to the natural hormonal shifts that occur at or around that age causing an imbalance in androgen/estrogen ratios. However in your case this has been addressed by a solid trt program. So if it would work on anyone it would be you.
So I dont have a definite answer but in this case I feel its worth a shot and provided the gyno did go away, the proper management of estrogen and maintaining and appropriate androgen/estrogen ratio should prevent it from returning.
If anything would do it its Raloxifene. Hope that helps.

Thank you gentlemen. It may well be worth a try. It doesn't bother me that much anymore (hated it with a passion when I was younger) but if I could get rid of it relatively easy (no surgery!) it might be still worth it. If I do I'll be sure to post my results.

I'd say the puffiness has decreased somewhat since dropping almost 50 pounds of fat but I've been even leaner before (10-12%) and they were still there then.

Raloxifen definitely raises test levels. Naturally I'm around 600 but with taking raloxifen it was around 860

Yes it does...around 20%.....which is actually less than most other serms do. That being said Braz, as you are on trt, it will have little to No impact on test levels at all. (sorry i missed that portion of your question.

    I agree with Jimmy.
Raloxifene (brand name Evista) is extremely similar to Nolvadex in action and is the primary clinical treatment for gyno (regardless of cause), the secondary being Letro. Definitely try it following the same 'clinical' dosing protocols as Nolva. Go to PubMed (the U.S. National Library of Medicine) and review studies similar to what you're seeking to accomplish. Note the dosages, and most importantly the duration of tx, which bb'ers always stop short of believing that tx is not working. Give it time!

    Best to you.
