    Bodybuilders and their skin

How do body builders or anyone in particular using AAS keep from breaking out or completely staying away from acne.

I use coco butter daily on my skin, I use good shower gel and I use a face wash... I don't get bad skin, I'm Not sure if that's genetics or luck or the products. Either way, I'm clean, smell of chocolate and have super soft skin!

I use dermalogica products for oily skin as I ha acne through puberty and when I did my first cycle I got cystic acne real bad which left me scarred all over my chest and back.
So any anti bacterial wash with salicilyic acid is great in my eyes!

I'm currently using 10% benzoyl peroxide and it hasn't done anything within the past 2 or 3 weeks. What is salicylic acid like?

I used to have terrible acne as a teen so got some experience

You should not use 10% benzo its ben proven that 3% is far more effective, sometimes more is not better, s-acid is more of a wash and a pore clenser it will dry out your skin but will not quickly romove a full blown raised pimple, it will disinfect though if it is opened. Accutane is extreamly effective but it has sides that range from liver dammage to gyno to dht sides. ( I have used it though)

Diet and hygene plays a role, should be bathing regularly drinking a gallon of water a day and avoiding oilly foods. Skin should be washed and then moisturized with lotion perferably twice a day. Perferably anti bacterial

It is far eaisier to prevent then cure so if the acne is full blown ridiculous all over your face then you can take a short stink of accutabe to get it under control then maintain from there. If its not you face and just some backnie then forget the accutane treat it accordingly and it will pass when the aas are over. If you are prone to scarring dont pop them.

No woman that has decided to sleep with (which she has likely decided long befor you taking your shirt off in front of her) is going so change her mind becuse you got some acne. Shell be more concerned on those heavily developed muscles that were the other side effect of the aas.

    No woman

I get bacne pretty bad, as you can see from my avatar, and I started using the neutrogena acne cleanse system it works great. It's like close to 30 bucks but its worth it in my opinion. Also aromasin seemed like it helped a little as well but not positive on that.

    ^^^this.

for my experience the only thing that clean acne was isotretinoin (accutane or roccutan) I went on and off the dermatologist for 4 years before he prescribe me that prodoct...he thought I was taking roids so my acne would eventually go away once I went off the steroids...but I was not on steroid!!!...I was only 21...anyway once he prescribed it my skin turned in to china. And even now is still clean. I mean I have girls asking me what I do to have a skin like this.

Now I'm 28 and I use roids...so when I am on cycle my skin my increase its oil production and I might have some reallt little black spots...So I just use some glycolic acid (AHA) such as exfoliac. twice a day on the areas that might look oily. that keep my skin clean.

But I am still sure that my skin is 100% the result of isotretinoin (oral form).

Tea tree oil works well too if you can get past the smell if it.

Forgot to mention: I also use Retin-A sometimes when I'm on cycle...but as I said before now a days thanks to the 8 months of Accutane I took years ago, my skin is totally changed. I never have acne again only black spots here and there when On cycle.

Retin-A which is also tretionin but in a gel form. To apply before bed. It improves acne/skin in 4 to 8 weeks. But I would advice it only if you suffer of black spot because yes, it works but not for severe acne. Still it make your face as china, reducing the pores.

You know what I'm kind of a metrosexual (meaning pretty boy) lol... and hang out with girls all the time. Last few girls I dated were into skin care religiously... here is stuff they told and helped me.

1: Get actual body and face wash for cleaning out pours and grease and oil. Not your smelly good crap. Here is good brand, works and not super pricey.

    http://www.cetaphil.com

2: exfoliate your skin once a week with scrub brush of some sort.

3: lotion up every day after shower.

4: pat dry don't rub dry after shower.

5 go tanning helps dry out suck up grease. And allows skin to breath (friend owns a desert sun) she knows lol.. but obviously don't tan due to cancer ish activity. (Own risk)

6: spray tan which is what I do. Also have sunless tanker in a bottle works super amazing.

    7: diet of course

8: water water water, and green tea help

There's my 10 cents well 8 cents haaaa.
But everyone is diff to reacting to stuff and some have it worse then others.

I don't really wear Ben Sherman. I have a 48" chest, and I'm tall, I can never find a shirt off the rails to fit me.

Noooooooo they are shit to be polite
There are several brands in the UK that fit the bill
    Ben Sherman
    Fred Perry
    Henry Loyd
    Rockport
    All worn by clones
I remember when Ben Sherman was big in fashion and everyone in the club looked the same no originality whatsoever.

Also brand associated with football hooligans

Basically what Pann said. They're associated now with kids that think they're dressing smart. They look tacky and cheap. You see kids wearing Lacoste or Fred perry and they think they're dressed in expensive gear. Usually skinny kids with 6" arms, polo shirts with the collar turned up.
Maybe it's just a UK thing.

I have had years of issues because of acne until I met the RIGHT dermatologist. There is no some kind of universal formula for everyone. My advice is that if you want to get rid of it, you MUST get accutane. It does have it side effects, but if you can handle them it is worth it, and you will even find it is not as bad as they say. I have made 2 cycles of accutane, the last 2 or 3 months of my second cycle were at a high-dose of 60mg ED. Acnefree cleanser worked well for me too.

    1) Get a derm who'd prescribe you accutane
    2) Shower immediately after trainning. Use baby soap and some kind of exfoliant regularly
    3) tanning helps (especially if your skin is too white, tanning helps you hide the defects on the skin, makes them more unnoticable to the human eye)
    4) AcneFree 3-step cleanser worked well for me, but you must use it regularly as on the instructions and do not skip a day.
    5) cantstopkane is 100% right

It has more to do with genetics than anything else. If you're acne sensitive to begin with you'll be the first to have an issue with gear and acne. If you're not acne sensitive you'll have a better chance of not having a problem with acne and gear.

If you are acne sensitive one of the best things you can do is making sure you stay clean and dry. This might mean taking an extra shower every day. It definitely means changing into a clean dry shirt after you become sweaty and showering as soon as you can.

Forgot to add, Niacin (vit. B3) - the flushing kind also has great benefits for me. At 1000mg ED at least so you can give it a shot as well.

    How many dose of isotretinoin

  30. #30
I 'm 22 years old, had bad acne more than 5 years. I started Isotretinoin with 20mg and moved to 50mg for 3 months total. Face and body were cleared at more than 95% and dermatologist said i don't need it anymore so i stopped, but short time after that things came back , but are not that bad. Most doctors recommend cycle with isotretinoin for 5 months+ and most are saying that repeating the treatment is very harmful. I had no side effects except dry lips/nose.

Now using Epiduo cream gel, but the local effect sucks. Bought benzoyl peroxide 5% for the body and will use epiduo for face since it's too expensive.

same here, had acne issues since I was 13. Haven't had issues on cycle...but PCT is a little shit. I just tan when necessary. I'm pretty scarred up from teenage years, w/e. Going pro in bbing to way to risky for the money you have invest, and minuscule chance of success plus the health aspect of what guys like Phil Heath and Cutler are on. Walking Pharmacies. I find the sun and the beach really clear it up better than any OTC meds or prescibed ones (besides isotretinion) from my experience. I've been prescribed creams, minocycline, doxycycline, and they did jack. Tanning and abrasion. Rubbing alcohol is a quick fix for oily skin if your afraid of a break out.

Been on accutane for 2.5 weeks. Only 20mg a day right now and I am supposed to bump up to 20mg 2x a day after my first 30 days. Doc has my liver enzymes checked every 30 days she said while on it. Some pretty harsh shit but it is the first time I ever remember my skin not being oily 24/7. Seem to be seeing some drying up of the acne, sides aren't bad yet like I expected but I do have some dry skin and lips of course.

Been treated for acne near 2 years and have had acne since I was a kid. 42 now. This is first time I have been prescribed accutane, I think because my doctors always made more money treating the symptoms than treating the cause. Always get a second opinion - lesson learned.

Some people, like me, just are not prone to it. If you see a bodybuilder on cycle and he doesnt have skin issues, its because of genetics 99% of the time. Skin products are ok but they are quite pathetic considering we put a man on the moon 40 years ago
