It wasn't one particular incident. I was working two very physical jobs and lifting really hard. It just got worse and worse.

I'm going to physical therapy 2-3 time a week. And just got a cortisone shot Friday. To early to tell if it worked.

jeep187 be careful with the cortisone shot if you feel better your injury still needs to heal don't want to see you go all out at work or the gym because you feel good and not give time to heal

avoid those shots, they weaken you IMO. find other avenues IMO

I have bulging disks in spine also, related more to a car accident.

So what did you do then?

Depending on the direction the bulge is (anterior, lateral, or posterior). You'll generally want to avoid movements that further pinch the bulge outward. For instance, posterior bulge you'd want to avoid and crunching movement because that would further push the disk back and generally cause pain.

You'd instead focus on exercise that would push the disk the opposite direction. Reverse hyper extension would be an example of an exercise that would help. Most disk problems are trial and error. Having the doctor tell you which direction the disk is bulging would really help.
