always hungry after workout, please help!

    hey guys,

I always seem to get extremely hungry, to the point where my stomach cramps, about 60-80 minutes after i have my post workout shake! I workout in the mornings so my food consumption up to lunch is as follows:

    6:30am
    50g Porridge
    30g Whey

    Post workout
    35g Whey
    70g Carbs

ABOUT AN HOUR FROM HERE I GET EXTREMELY HUNGRY, AND I MEAN EXTREMELY!

    Snack
    Medium Chicken Breast
    Wholewheat bread (2 slices)

    Lunch
    tin of tuna
    Salad

My mai n concern is that since i am tryign to lose fat, i dont want to be so hungry! within 2 and a half hours of me being awake i have consumed 720 calories! is this ok or what should i do? i have considered hoodia to blunt my appetite.

also want to know this. I have arginine and creatine (both ethyl esters) but am unsure how i should take them. I was thinking of 2g Arginine and 3g creatine pre workout, then 1g arginine post workout, 1 g creatine with my lunch, then 1g creatine with my dinner

Please give me input on this

    thanks

That's why I go with 1 cup oats with whey for PWO when cutting. I prefer low glycemic carbs anyhow, and a whole meal is nicer when cutting. I get hungry with less.

Happens to me too.Its the PWO 70 gms of sugar.Your blood sugar is super low so you should eat a PPWO meal an hour after your PWO.

3/4 cup of oats and whey works great and will stabablize your blood sugar. Its not in the sticky up top and I dont know where I read it but a PPWO meal of slow carbs is mandatory since the sugar will most likely drop you into whopperville Ive been there MANY MANY times in the past not knowinfg what was happening.

i'd advise increasing your pwo protein and carbs.

if you're trying to cut up, i'm sure your calories are fairly low, and to minimize muscle catabolism while on a restricted diet, you gotta replenish those muscles asap after working out. that's the one time of the day you can really load up on calories and get away with it, as the majority of the meal will be used to replenish what your muscles lost.

if you're getting that hungry that soon after your pwo, i seriously doubt you're properly replenishing what your body needs afterwards, and that means increased cortisol, and you know where that leads to.

if need be, reduce the calories in some of your other meals where you feel you can do it without going hungry after those meals and add those calories to your pwo. that way, no upping calories, just switch them around to a time they're needed more.

I take my PWO shake, 1hr later PPWO meal (40g Prot, 50carbs-complex, no fat), 2hrs later take another meal.

    Ditto on the timing.

rish_mark20: You're SUPPOSED to be hungry 60-90 minutes after your pwo shake.

    Get your meal in

lol i no im supposed to be hungry then, and i do eat when those pains come! but this means that within 3 and a half hours of me being awake, iv taken in almost half my days calorific allowence, and i still got 12 hours to be awake. i assume that this isnt the end f the world considering i just cut the calories later in the day since im pretty much sedentary later on?? for my dinner i usually just have a huge big salad, and a turkey breast or 2. and cottege cheese and some natty PB before bed, but not a lot.

is this the answer then? just up my PWO carbs and protein then get roughly the same carb/pro split in a meal an hour or so later, and just reduce the calories later in the day, so over 12 hours i get 4-5 meals at bout 300kcals each??

    thanks for the help guys

PWO should be your highest amount of carbs. PPWO should be a moderate amount of carbs.. Not the same meals at all. I take in Whey/Maltodextrin PWO, and PPWO I take in whole foods.

ever since i switched to a slow carb (1.5 cups oats or 2 cups brown rice) along with my protein shake instead of the dex it ties me over for a while and eating the ppwo meal is really filling and im usually not even that hungry for it but i shovel it down neways due to body being a sponge
