    What should I do???

Ill be a senior in H.S. next year and Ive been researching aas for awhile now but I know im nowhere near ready but I read the forums for the tips&advice anyway. My question/problem is that Im extremly skinny (5'9'' 135lbs) and I want to workout and gain weight naturally; so I went to join a local gym and they gave me a 2 weeks free trail membership so I gave it a try. Being so young & small eveyone at the gym just looks at me like Im crazy or something. Im trying to workout and I see all the big guys looking & laughing at me. Its really uncomfortable to try and workout and everyones looking at me like I dont belong there. I dont know what I should do? I dont have any friends that workout to go with, should I just workout at home? I even tried to approach one of the guys I always see and asked him a Q about an exercise and he just looks at me with this stupid smile and didnt even answer my question. This is the only gym in my area; so what do yall think? I know I prob. sound like a lil bitch but I thought Id get eveyones opinions. Thanks

Well that is something which happens all to often in my gym as well..
There are always immature people who think they are better than others..
They laugh at fat people, skinny ones, etc..

Well, I always treat skinny guys (fat ones aswell) respectfully if the attend a membership in our gym, 'cause they are willing to change! Most of us started small or smaller than we are now.. No one was born like ronny or jay.

So this may not be an easy time for you right now, but i strongly advise you go through all this, train your ass of in the gym (wouldn't advise training at home), and as soon as your are growing you will earn respect. It only takes time, but in the end i think it is well worth the effort!

When I was Jr. in HS, I was almost the exact same size as you. From the end of my Jr. year to the end of my senior year I put on 35 pounds naturally and grew an inch and a half. I got a home weight set and I bought some books on bodybuilding and read it and Muscle & Fitness like they were the bible. I’d suggest that you continue to lift at the gym, but if it’s too much stress then get a home weight set and keep researching on here as much as you possibly can to learn about training, diet, rest, and natural supplements. Then I'm sure by the end of your senior year, you too can naturally gain a lot of muscle. Either way, if you've got the will and determination, you'll achieve your goal naturally. Plus there are plenty of people on here that will help you. One finally thing, please don't get pressured into using steroids because stupid people are laughing at you or you are not gaining fast enough. It takes time to build muscle and once your old enough, at least 21, then you can start thinking about using gear.

Ignore the idiots at the gym, they should be helping you and not laughing, concentrate on your diet and training program and get use to eating every 3 hours and keep pushing the weights with proper form, buy some muscle mags and read and read and ask at the gym for some advice,

Search around all the different forums on this site there is plenty of good solid info and people willing to help.

tune em out, bring an mp3 and do your workout. Then you don't hear all the idiotic comments. Don't let them distract you from getting the most out of your workouts.

I agree, no worries , I go into my own little world when I am at the gym. Me, music , and the iron. No sh** talking, no flirting ( ok a lil with my baby blues ) and worrying about what people think when they look at me. Good luck sweety keep your chin up your still not done growing either and honey your body changes after 21 so you very well could and I have seen spread out. Look at your family, is your dad thin? mom? that does have some play for the O 'natural.

nobody is gonna laugh at you, hell most people were small when they started working out to begin with. I was your size when I was a senior in high school too. Dont give a damn what other people think..go to the gym, train hard and eat a lot

    Here is what I suggest.

    1) Go to the gym owner or manager and ask if there is someone that can show you around.

    2) Show that you are there for the long haul...The average person quits between week 6 and 10 of membership from what I have read.

    3) Follow the other AR members' advice about reading, diet and rest.

    4) When you workout - use good form! That is probably one of the greatest things that these "big guys" will respect and acknowledge.

Once you do these things you will find that you are not only growing, but that you are smart about it and you can handle more and more weight because you took the time to build a foundation few younger people build when they start working out.

    Good Luck Brother!

(EDIT) This kind of post needs to be made in the workout area - Just FYI

Ditto. I do the same thing. People seem to forget that everyone had to start somewhere.

Just shake them haters off!! They are always going to be there. Should even give you alittle more incentive. People that laugh and point, are the ones dealing with some of there own insecurities. I wish you the best bro, just stay focused on you, and everything will fall into place.

I had the opposite problem as you... former fatty in the gym with all the idiots looking at me stupid. We all start some where man. I know this..while i was dropping fat and getting pretty good build , the other guys didn't change at all. No noticeable growth on em. Just work out and wait till you start seeing your gains surpass those dipshits. Suggest you read up on the diet section...your metabolism is prolly hella fast so the bulking sticky would prolly be good. Read around on this board in the work out section...you will get a good start.

It all pays off man. This is the best thing you'll ever do.
I get a lot of satisifaction out of being able to outlift the guys that juice at my gym hehe.
I'll change to the darkside eventually though :P
