ZMA....what do people think of it?

Just wondering what people think of this as a legitimate supp or if just taking a seperate zink and magnesium tab would work just as well?

I heard that from a few people but have also heard from some it was just the same but a whole lot cheaper......not really sure which is the best. I can only assume it is like a good multi-vitamin rather than all the seperate ones.

I took optimum ZMA before bed. 3 pills as it recommends. It didn't help me fall asleep sooner. It DID make my want to stay asleep longer. I'm pretty sure it was making me feel sleepy in the afternoon as well. I didn't notice anything in the gym either. I'm not saying it's crap for everybody, but it is for me!

Interesting...hasnt done anything for my sleep...always had a hard time with this anyway since I can remember.

I do notice the change in vivid dreams though.....I didnt give it much though on association but now that someone confirms....must be the case. Kind of a nice side....when there good dreams that is...you know....the hot swimsuit model ones....LOL

zma is merely zinc and magnesium attached to aspartate. aspartate in excessive amounts can be extremely toxic, so i'd advise against consumption of anything in it. it's an excitotoxin. do a web search and you'll see the potential risks of it. any company that would sell this product either failed to do their research or cares more about their $ than your health.

the reason they attach the aspartate to it is because it improves the amount of zinc/magnesium that's absorbed. simply take 50% more of regular zinc and magnesium and you'll be getting the same thing, only at like 1/10th the cost, if that. zma is overpriced, overhyped vitamins that IMO need to go.

pretty sure water makes you piss all night long...i on the other hand love my ZMA love the vivid dreams and even though it doesnt help me fall asleep faster it sure as hell makes me sleep like a rock throughout the night. and if you dont got anything going on like school or work in the mornings its perfect cause it helps me sleep longer.....i love it and when i get back into the swing of things thats for sure one of the supps i'll be taking.

ZMA is decent if you are deficient in any of the three.
