    whats the difference between sugar and sugar alcohol??

    just wondering....i bought a protein bar that had 1 g of sugar but 18 g of sugar alcohol

    Sugar alcohols cannot be completely digested.

    sugar alcohol is not supposed to impact your insulin levels as much

    It should be alright although be careful as it can cause a false sense of hunger and make you crave sugar I believe.

    Sugar alcohosl have a adverse affect on axon transmission, and is a neurotoxin; therefore, after you consume it, it slows down metabolic and neurological processes quite dramatically, giving you a sluggish feeling after you consume them. Although it does not impact insulin or blood sugar, there is a laundry list of side effects with long term use or overconsumption.

    I would opt for Stevia instead.
