    Tanning beds and face tanning

The tanning bed I use at my gym has a face tanner, but it does not work. If I lie down backwards, will my face still get tanned by the normal lights that would normally tan your body? I have doing it this way for a while and am wondering if I should continue on or not

I never tan my face. That's the fastest track to wrinkles that you could take. I cover my face with a towel and use sunless tanner if I need to.

    For women yes, men no.

Men's faces dont have the same reaction and wrinkling as womens do to tannning. I have even posted a medical article about it in this very forum before. Mens faces have thicker skin due to shaving. And I mean if you want real life examples look at bodybuilders, the women ALWAYS look more wrinkled from tanning compared to the men.

Not sure if I believe the whole cancer and the sun stuff. My grandfather died at 95, was always out in the sun, without sunblock. Never had any type of cancer. My grandmother died at 100 same with her, nothing.

Well it's definitly real. Skin type and ethnicity play a major role

Okay, I plan on doing some tanning just to get a nice tan... I'm pretty white but am able to tan slightly... I was thinking of getting a membership at a tanning place and going maybe 3 times a week... Would this be bad for me or alright? I don't want skin cancer, but I wouldn't mind a tan...

Use a sunless tan lotion and go lay out by a pool or something a few times a week with some spf 15 sunblock. Not too bad for the old skin. Also, cutting the grass w/o a shirt on, running shirtless etc etc outside helps. I got a mean tan from all of the above, and never hit the tanning bed.I also use cocoa butter lotion to even the skin tone over my body. Just a few personal tips.

Melanoton or Mystic Tan are good options.
