just curious as i may begin to work construction real soon and wanted to know if theres any big dudes out there that work hard labour.

hey bro..im not a major construction worker, but i'm a contractor, and i do pretty hard labor work...plus during the summer work on the farm quite a bit..im' 5'10 220 around 15%bf...you can do construction and still do fine...your diet is very important and you need to make sure you give yourself plenty of rest...when you do stuff during the day and then go workout, you may want to decrease your volume some to help that out...

You wanna make gains in the gym while working a physically demanding job will require alot of rest, training 3-5 days a week isn't as hard as it sounds. You'll be fine.

Bro i just did construction this summer and i lost a lot of weight. Construction is a extremely physically demanding job, so all your doing is burning calories while working, and you dont get enough breaks to eat enough to replenish your body...also when i got home from work i was always exhausted to the max so going to the gym was very difficult and sometimes impossible. And if you go to the gym after work you cant push hard and when you come home you don't get enough rest....without sufficient rest your body wont have time to repair itself and you wont get any bigger. Basically i quit my job...it wasn't worth it to me, all those hard years working out hard and dieting properly almost gone to waste for a few months of work.

Been a contractor for almost 13 years. I dont find it too hard to maintain eating and hitting the gym. Last night on the squats I finished with 3 sets of 3 at 500.. Its not hard at all to work construction and hit the weights heavy..

Try to get a good night sleep and work out before you go to work I guess. I really dont know what to tell ya bro. I am a fireman and pull 24 hr shifts eod for five days so thats 72 hrs in a 120 hr period followed by 4 days off then repeat schedual again. I also work heavy construction on my days in between and on my four days off the fire dept, plus raise 4 kids with my wife. sports, school, etc...etc... and I make time to lift and train in mma and spend quality time with my wfe and I am 37 yrs old dude, If you dont have enough strength to eat then I guess your screwed. maybe you can have your momma come over and bake you some cookies LMFAO. oops I should have read the whole thread, sorry I thought you started this one, my bad. lol
