    Need Some Advice

Where to start well I am 40 years old I started training in the late 80s till 03 I have used A.S for more than 12 years to make a long story short I am a father now husband . But I have let my self go from a 32 waist to a 40 I carry my weight ok. Here is the problem back when I started My first wife left me for some guy , So with that I started at the gym and one thing led to another and one shot led to another . Before long I was in the best shape of my life. Now no matter what I do now I cant seem to get the drive or the fun of training , I cant seem to diet nor make my self keep up with the gym I have tried every thing to motivate myself I just don’t have that drive I hade years ago .
I have not been on the boards for years but was a great resource once upon a time. I would like to say this I am not looking for a source or leads. I have access to what ever I need I have many years of training yada yada diet .. what I am missing is the drive So I hope there are some out there that have over come this and can lend some of advice . I don’t want to wind up the dad that cant take his shirt of at the beach or cant go bike riding because he cant find a seat big enough

    Thanks

When I feel like I need a drive at the gym I just turn on my ipod and listen to music that moves me. Another thing is I think about all the women that have put me down or people that don't wanna see me in shape and that motivates me to work out hard.

U're depressing me just listening to you whine..

So whats the deal , do u want to work out or do u not want o?

    LOL

maybe its some sort of War between your higher thinking brain, and your primitive brain...

and u'll need to trick your primitive brain into wanting to go lift again, to satisfy your higher thinking tastes...

ECA stack or whatever is the equivalent to that today.. like No Xplode stuff or whatever.. u see if that helps motivate u?

There is no trick...your older than me... you know you have to push yourself a little. I had a long time off and set goals when I got back into it. I didn't think I was doing too bad and thought I carried my weight good too... then one day i was looking at some pictures and noticed I didn't quite look like I thought I did... so i put the picture on the fridge and everytime I went in the kitchen I got motivitated.... I was up to about 25% bf at that time and was at 35 inch waist at 185....one thing I would do is get obsessed with it a little. also fit gym time into a realistic routine in your life and everynow-and-then watch things on tv or internet that motivate you. or come on here in the pic forum and get motivated by others...Look at other healthy people...get your family support... that is a huge one... also, think about your kids.. you set the example... they see you making health a priority they will too...good luck.

Take your shirt off and look at yourself in the mirror, then turn your body sideways and look at yourself...not motivated yet? How about trying to commit yourself to 6.5 days a week and then work your ass off for that Sunday evening cheat meal because by that time, you've earned it. Theres not much anyone can say here, it's going to only rely on yourself.

just ask yourself if you really think your wife is honestly attracted to you. If the answer is yes then you're in good shape. If you honestly think she would be more interested in you and more proud to show you off as her man if you were to be in better shape, you need to go to the gym. imagine what you would feel like if she cheated with a man more in shape than you and you knew you could have helped the situation by not being a lazy ****... that should motivate you plenty
