    pushups no good?

Okay sometimes i do serious lat pulls a little too close to my chest day and my pecs are sore at the top back corner, kinda close to my shoulders. In such a case, instead of lifting heavy (which i can't cause part of my chest got trashed) I do mad pushups, to complete failure. I do it so I get at least some workout instead of waiting another 4-7 days for that one little part of my chest to recover. The pumps are great, but does it really not build muscle? I find that difficult to believe.

Also, am I doing my lats wrong?

I'd have to see some kind of video or something of your lat pulls to know if your doing them wrong, but I can tell you that I have never had a sore chest from doing lat pulls. And as far as pushups go, you said it, "the pumps are great," and thats about it. They are a good beginner chest exercise and could help a bit with definition, but as far as building muscle I dont see it happening.

Drop your weights on whatever lat excercise is causing you to bring your chest into play and really go for isolation on just the back. Change your routine so there is more time between chest and back day and give your body part an extra day to recover before training if it is sore.

You aren't doing your lat pull-downs behind the neck, are you?

    your so smart.

it doesnt hurt to nock out a couple sets of bench and incline db's on back day. or just rest for 1 or 2 days so you can hit chest 2 or 3 days after back.
