    Bicycle for cardio?

obviously not as good as 30-40 min on the treadmill -- but i'm sure it's beneficial.

    your thoughts........

it's fine if your doing low intensity for a long duration...just try to keep the heart rate up. It's good to mix it up though.

I only do bike 0nce every 2 weeks if Im to tired for tread mill or elyptical and I just want to sit in front of the TV in the gym 45 minutes minimum. Or you could mix it up 20 min bike / 20 minutes tread mill or eliptical / 20 min rowing machine. Depends what your goals are too, If you have low body fat and your bulking, bike is great!

Why do you think its not as good as the treadmill??????as long as you keep your heart rate elevated it doest matter what you are doing.

Beat me to it. All that matters is heart rate. If you can get it up to 135 masterbating then it would be as good as anything else.

I use the bike sometimes...like when my knees hurt from squatting while on cycle. Good way to do low impact cardio. I do *feel* like I get more out of running though.

I like to use the bike for a few minutes before I hit legs, just to get some blood flowing there.

If you take speed and your heart rate is at 130 bpm while sitting down - are you burning fat?

you are using fat as primary energy source when cardio is under 70% HR

It depends on the bike... recumbent bike = pointless. Also, even on the normal stationary bikes, you will want to use a good amount of resistance.

I respectfully disagree. Depending on many other variables, it will take roughly 20 minutes to burn off your blood sugar and to begin burning fat when doing cardio. While masturbating may stimulate the heart, I don't believe you will begin to tap into the fat stores in 2 minutes. Although the pleasure is much greater than riding a bike. Perhaps you should just masturbate while riding the bicycle. Twice as efficient in burning fat.

bro 2 minutes is underestimating the guy.. i mean lets be serious.. say he jerks off 30 minutes each morning (empty stomach cardio), and keeps his HR under 70% intensity.. thats some work but itll get the job done haha.. jk
