    blood sugar

when trying to cut form 9% (where I am now) to 6.5% (goal), do I want to have low blood sugar levels?
I know hunger levels increase when you have low blood sugar levels and when I eat (just did 5 minutes ago) I am still starving. I am craving sweets (something I have never done before - in fact I hate candy and cake and all that). I believe I am just low on blood sugar. so what is your take on this? where do I want my blood sugar levels to be? low, normal?

it's not that you want low blood sugar levels, it's that you want to limit huge spikes in these levels(so you want them constant), normal to low-normal is fine but you don't want to get too low

Thanks Phate. so hunger is not necessarily a bad thing? I feel like I am constantly hungry. like I could eat like 5000kcal a day and be hungry. I eat food every 2 hours and its low carbs and I am just starving. also what would happen if I just ate protein and no carbs in a majority of meals so that there were no carbs at all? not keto because 2 meals would have carbs but most would not.

it depends, i'd have to see the diet to be sure but you can enter ketosis depending on the carb sources

but protein with no carbs would result in a flatter look due to less muscle glycogen

Not worried about a flat look as right now I don't have much of a look at all. came a long way in just a month but not nearly my goal. 9%bf tested today and I can see veins in my abs again. but I wanted to be low 7 high 6 at this point.

anyway how could keto preserve muscle? I would think your muscle would fall right off.

Keto with regular refeed days should prevent muscle loss and help fat burn. Without refeed days the glucogenesis will increase and eat away your lbm.

You never want just a protein only meal, either protein/carb or protein/fat. A protein only meal will leave you hungry about 30 mins after the meal plus your body needs either carbs or fats to shuttle the nutrients from the protein. If you are hungry all the time try eating green leafy veggies (ex. broc) w/ almost every meal. This will give you a full feeling and won't increase your carb or cal intake.

I would omit efa's in your 1st meal and pwo, although some will argue w/ me about efa's in your pwo meal.

in my first meal it is only one cap which is not very much. pwo is two. its kinda just to put the nutrients in there. it is not nearly like a pro/fat meal. I just like to have a variety of resources.

Phate always beats me to the punch, was going to say not low but "stable" levels.
