    my dumb question...

OK, it's my turn...on internet orders, particularly international, when the package arrives, does it require a signature to accept delivery? I'm not too cool with signing for anything, and if it's not supposed to be signed for, and all of a sudden they need a signature, or leave you a note saying there's a package at the post office for you, but you need to go there, do you blow it off and assume it's been "compromised"?

    No signatures required.

The senders want to stay anonymous.

If you have to go to the post office,(which I have never had to do), I'd pick it up.

I would call them first, and ask them to leave it at your door because you work 24/7 and can't get to the P.O. during there hours they are open.

Some companies to require a signature, but most, @least in my experiences do not require it. As far as going there to get it....well I personally wouldn't lol....I would ask for a tracking number and watch it like a hawk. Take a day off of work if you have to. Usually if they miss you the first time they will leave a note and come back the next day.

Whether you have to sign or not usually depends on how it is shipped or mailed. Regular mail you don't have to sign for it. If the post office has it, yeah go pick it up. If it's been compromised you would recieve a letter of seizure or some such... probably.

I've been ordering from the same company for 6 years now and they never sent it with a signature required till last year. Had to go to the p.o. to pick it up and no problems. I had to call them and tell them that i take full responsibility for the package. Well, they did it again on my very next order. Same outcome as before. It took me to threaten to take my business elsewhere if they did it again. No problems since. I just told them i worked 12 hour shifts and couldn't be there for the mail, or make it to the p.o. during their hours.

Actually its pretty normal to sign as proof of recieving it, at least thats normal here in the UK.

And if they leave a paper to say you should go pick it up, it would be for 2 reasons...

1- you have to pay customs
2- you were not at home when they delivered it

its pretty normal i would say, if you want you could always call and make a redelivery.
