Obama making more friends. This time under crticism from Environmentalist groups as Obama wants to lift the ban on commericial whaling, set out 25+ years ago by Ronald Reagen. Obama claims that his proposal will make tighter controls on the numbers killed each year by Iceland, Norway and Japan.

His administration is already facing criticism to how it is dealing with the oil crisis and now this.

Im sure some people wont care about this sort of thing but i'm personally not happy with this. Japan as it is kills a ridiculous amount of whales, and is already having tensions with Australia over it, mostly because Japan keeps entering Australian waters to find more whales.

Guess Obama doesn't want a second term after all.

Funny you know....I live in Japan and most Japanese know nothing of the whale hunting issues between Oz and Japan.
