i think pushup bars would be mucmoreeffective due to the extended range of motion you will get from them
i agree with partyboy, ROM and endurance is more important components of pushups
if you wanted resistance just go to the gym
Looks interesting
If anyone tries it let us know what you thinkFor now I just have my 9 year old sit on my back when doing push-ups for a little extra weight.

partyboy has the right idea on this. Trust me on this, to get better at doing alot of push-ups......do alot of push-ups. Start of like this...I'm not sure how many you can do already but this is how they did it with my class in boot camp,
day1-3 3 sets of 10
day4-6 3 sets of 20
day7-10 3 sets of 25
day11-13 4 sets of 20
day15-? 4 sets of 35
i have pushup bars that i got for like 15 bucks...you can do different types of pushups and really hit each part of your chest depending on what you do. i started using them to do pushups and found i gained more muscular endurance over 3 or 4 weeks...i went from being able to do around 50 flat pushups for one set to around 70 from using the bars...when i am on cycle though i won't fatigue my chest like that though, only when im off. if you are looking to put size on they won't do much but you will improve your endurance/core strength.
