need to see a hematologist, what should i do?

basically i have my family doctor and a doctor who monitors my blood work and prescribes my cycles. my family doc doesnt know about my other doctor nor my steroid use. last week i got an appt with my fam doc because ive been feeling lethargic, weak, dizzy.. so he did blood work and results came back with low wbc, high hemoglobin, high hematocrit, low neutrophile, high creatine, normal test, and normal prolactin. so he is sending me to a hematologist and im on the fence as to whether or not to admit to cycle use. could the two be related? i just finished my pct at the end of june. (test, winnie) should i say i did prohormones instead of aas? what could be the cause of these levels? thanks in advance for any constructive input.

i just figured that just because a dr prescribed it doesnt mean its ethical practice. i'm 24 and my test is in range. im not trying to get anybody in trouble here.

the dr isnt going to investigate. Tell him you had low t. But being on stuff does effect your blood levels. So there is no need going for maybe more test and all issues if its related

Doctors are all thick as thieves, dude. They aren't going to go around investigating each other.

Hell, just in order to have a chance at winning a clear malpractice suit, you need to pay to have a doc flown in from another state, since no doc is willing to testify against his local peers (since they could all play at that game).
The medical field is largely a good ol' boys' club.

i'm also concerned with how she will treat my symptoms. will she just say "hm, yep its because of your stupid steroids, have a nice day".. does anybody have any idea what else could be causing these kind of results? im hearing things like kidneys, infectious disease, the "c word"... im trying not to get too excited but i've had high rbc since i was 18, before any aas use, and never had it flagged by a dr.

You have a point there because some doctors are uneducated about steroids and since she is human she may just write it off. Since your test levels are normal just let them do the blood work, test and answer whatever questions. I would not bring it up unless I had to and implementing the other doctor could jeperdise your relationship with him.

Better yet, go to him, tell him what is going on how you are feeling, what the other doctor recommended and see what he has to say. Even though you were told to go see this other doctor does not mean you don't have a choice. I have been referred to specialist before and never went and never asked about it again. Go see your cycle doctor.

well you not on "steroids" Your on prescription testosterone for low t. that your dr prescribed. I dont see how she would judge or look down on you for that.

i'm on trt and i tell every dr or specialist i goto. Not one has ever judged me. It a medical condition. Your not self medicating or abusing

I get the feeling it's because it's not HRT/TRT related but more of a friendship type thing or doctor doing it just because he is going to one way or another, no medical reason to be on test so it's a gray area at best.

i just dont want her asking for my files from my other doctor to see if theres any trend in blood results. so if i tell her "ive had high rbc for years now", then i dont want her to say "oh can u get those charts from your other dr". then shell see my old test levels, etc.. i think im going to go with lovbyts on this one and not tell her unless she asks or its def necessary. i kinda dont have a feeling the two are related. ill call my other dr to see if he has any opinion too

I've never heard of any female doctor willing to help out someone with anything steroid related. Your best bet is to find a male doctor and see if you can get some more sympathy.

It's my experience and experience from my friends who have been able to get prescriptions from doctors that the psyche of female doctors does not lend well to helping a male with fitness as a focus. Perhaps they are jealous or got burned by pretty boys or juiceheads?

Gender bias? In this case, absolutely...I would never go to a female doctor with any kind of steroid questions or issues.

why are you running a PCT if a doctor is prescribing you AAS....wouldnt that mean you are on HRT or is the doctor actually prescribing you cycles?

Those results u have from your blood can be from leukemia. .but I'm not sure. I did have a coworker who use to juice and said he had an accident. Cut his foot. And caught an infection because the juice affected his white /red blood count. Which affected his body from fighting off infections. He swore by what he told me but it wasn't me so I can't put my head on the chopping block. But be honest with the Dr. About u juicing because it will help him figure out your blood test readings.good luck.

he's prescribing me cycles.. i called his office today and spoke with one of his assistants and she said not to worry about telling the dr about the cycles if she asks. i sure hope this isnt leukemia.

i went to the hematologist and am waiting for the results. basically this whole ordeal started when i went to my dr because i was feeling off.. when i work out i get really dizzy and sometimes thing i might vomit if i dont stop. i lost 15lbs in 2 months due to lack of motivation. i also become tired during the day and have frequent head aches. now doing the math: high hemoglobin, high creatine.. i am wondering if i might be in the early stages of becoming diabetic. i have had a past with anxiety but the gym has always been my safe haven so i dont believe its anxiety related. any opinions?

I'm a diabetic. If it was that they would have known right away. What did the dr think?

doctor doesnt really think much of anything. she said its not iron deficiency because my rbc is high. and she gave me some b-12 to shut me up. but otherwise she looked at me like i was being a baby because its a hematology/oncology center with lots of cancer patients and im complaining about my blood levels being a little off. i know something is wrong, i am not a hypochondriac whatsoever. how would they know if it was diabetes right away? i dont know the testing process.

your first basic bloodwork would have shown it. Plus you would have alot of other symptoms. Diabetes isnt hard to diagnose

well she says my bloodwork is fine. the only thing i regret asking her to test me for is mono. i know a few people who had mono and didnt realize it and had pretty much the same symptoms. now she is sending me to an cardiologist but my blood pressure and ekg were perfect at my GP's office so i dont think they will find anything there.

i had my gp send me a script to get tested for mono. my buddy/dr at the gym said to test for lupus too? it sucks being in the dark about your own body.
