    Anyone here into track cycling?

Im thinking of taking up track cycling as a way to get fit and keep track of my fitness.

High intensity sprints of 1000m look like good fun!

Anyone around here ever done it competitively or for fun/ fitness?

what exactly is track cycling? i got into mountain biking and road biking over past year and love it! mountain biking is a rush, especially when barrelling downhill at 40mph dodging trees and what not! very intense and very hard on the body with all the climbing hills and holding on! road cycling can get boring but it is a great way to get your endurance/cardiovascular health up. sprinting on a road bike is fun and it is fun to see how fast you can go before your legs just tighten up. good to see ya back around base and love that avi!

Track cycling is high speed cycling on a track or veledrome.... There are many events, but they are mainly high intensity type stuff, not like the Tour de France

I cycled track many years ago. Loved, loved, loved it. Was great for leg development too, look at Chris Hot! Then I moved where there wasn't a track anywhere near me. I'm thinking of doing it again should I move somewhere that has a track. Though I'll need to spend some cash on a new bike

They are rarely built anywhere in the world! Usually when a country gets a major games (Olympics, Commonwealth etc). They are supposed to be building one near to where I am moving. Though only 250m long should ensure I get dizzy when it's built and I use it. The one I used to use was over 400m.

There are a few outdoor tracks near me...

Im looking at spunking £800 on a Fuji bike, but still un-decided on it TBH...

I think it would be great for fitness, leg development, fun and would end up giving you an ace physique when combined with a BB'ing type training routine

Ask him what the best track bike is for around £800 or less.... I was looking at a Fuji 2012 Track 1.0 which is £800
