T3 vs. T4 for fat loss.

As we all know that T4 is converted in the body into T3, I wanna use T3 to lose weight besides the diet and cardio. What happened is that I couldn't find T3 so here I got T4 (Levothyroxine), would that give the same results?

I was discussing this with JimmyInkedUp last week.
T4 converts to T3 at a rate of about 25%. So 150mcg of T4 daily will give you around 32.5mcg of T3 daily. And if I recall, the body produces approximately 25mcg daily if T3. So should be enough to see some results.

I'm in the same situation, I have a large cheap supply of T4 available, but T3 is hard to get.

    Hope this helps.

Would you have to supplement taurine with this? Doesn't the conversion of T4 to T3 deplete taurine levels? I could b off on this, but I remember reading something when I was reading on clen that clen increases conversion of T4 to T3 and taurine is used in this process so you have to supplement taurine or u run out of "conversion" fuel.

I'll have to do some digging on this...

Remember that the body doesn't automatically convert any fixed % of t4 to t3. 25% is a estimate of what a normal healthy person converts but taking supraphysiological doses of t4 can drastically change that because the body converts t4 to t3 as needed not at a set amount.

Right ...we discussed that too krug ..and you left that part out brother. That why your friend is on thyroid replacement therapy and requires 175mcg t4 to equal what in essence is 25mcg of t3 - remember?

    Good post sarge!
