    Bigger Stronger Faster

I might publish this threat at the wrong place but i could not find anywere else to put it.

I guess most of you guys have seen the documentary "Bigger Stronger Faster" (its for free online) what do you think about the information given on that documentary? is it all wrong, or is the documentary trustwordy? the impression i got from it was that steroids is alot safer than the media tells you. After looking aroundt here for some weeks i start to think that the documentary is bullshit. would any of you recommend others to see it? is it any movie, documentary or any video at all that you would recommand to see about steroids? this is a huge and complex field and im getting bored off reading all day...

Well if you are bored of reading forget steroids. They are reasonably safe when used properly unfortunately there are too many uneducated people that take steroids.

What makes you think from looking around here that the info in the doc is bullshit?

Steroids can be taken safely with proper education and as long as their is not abuse. The media blows the dangers of steroids way out of proportion.

I would recommend people to see it. When I first started dating my girlfriend three years ago, I had her watch it because she wasn't educated (like most people) on AAS. The documentary allowed her to see the other side of steroids and it opened her up to being cool with my AAS use (not that she really had a choice). Luckily she is open-minded because if she had told me that I wasn't going to be allowed to take them if I wanted to be with her, I would have gotten rid of her/

It's a good documentary to show people who don't have much knowledge on the subject of steroids.

The reason I'm skeptical is because it conveys information in a way that steroids seem harmless. it mentions nothing about pct, ai, hcg (that I can remember). It explains how the side effects are only temporary. it has many good points, but personaly i think that it goes to little into the details about the danger of this and the need for other drugs to keep sideffects away. the documentary motivated me to start with steroids and this forum scare the crap out of me (wich is good, it makes me want to learn before considering to give steroids a try)

The ancillaries are "part" of any steriod cycle and should be common sense with any research. That movie was good at showing both sides of the argument. But as far as the ancillaries, they didn't need to go into detail because that isn't what the movie was about. It wasnt a documentary about how to use steriods.

I'm not sure that it makes them seem harmless but it does make an attempt to get rid of the nasty stigma that the media has given steroids. It does talk about some of the dangers of steroid use but they don't get into the ancillary compounds and things of that nature because frankly, there's too much information to cover while keeping the documentary entertaining. At the end of the day, the point of the documentary was to make money and and things like PCT and estrogen control, etc are not very interesting to most people - especially those who have not used gear (information overload). I don't think that any of the Bell brothers really knew their shit with regards to AAS anyway.

I think it's an awesome movie and I've seen it probably 10x but you're right, it doesnt cover everything.

I'm glad that you decided to join a forum and educate yourself on these drugs before just jumping on gear without knowing shit like we see far too often.

I still classify steroids as safe drugs, nowhere near as bad as cocaine and speed etc etc. And at least the guys on roids are actually trying to enhance their bodies through dieting and training, opposed to recreational drug abusers who are ruining themselves each and every day.

Good point, i hate explaining how steroids work to people now cause it takes ages to get the information through some peoples heads. Instead i prefer to tell them to go and research the subject themselves online, then once they are more up to date with the topic, then we can engage in steroid conversation etc etc.

I think that the risks associated with aas are not so much with the aas itself.

aas, when taken conservatively, (means right dose, right stack, right duration, right age, with every thing else one might need such as HCG, AI and a proper pct) isn't too much of an issue.

the issue is brought about when these tenents are violated (too much gear, for too long, too young, no pct.....). Additionally, UG gear brings on a whole host of other issues not present when only taking pharm grade.

I think if a bloke does everything he is supposed to (as mentioned above in the "conservative" bit), AND monitors blood pressure, with regular blood panels, I think a bloke can live a long and healthy life while using AAS and lifting.

    Think of it this way....

....it's a helluva lot better than smoking/drinking and a sedentary lifestyle.

Think about it. What other group of guys can get together and talk about BF% and not seem gay? huh? Most guys will barely even look at each other, and here we are posting pics of ourselves, trying to drop another point or two of body fat percentage.

What i think some here are lacking is the long view. It's good we are doing this for short term reasons. But you need to look at the long view, and think over an entire life cycle, and how to stay healthy/vital into your 90's. I think AAS is one of many "tools" that will allow us to do this.

I thought the movie did a good job presenting the argument as is rather then embellishing one side of the argument over the other. If someone didn't like the movie because they thought it was too easy on the side effects topic, maybe it's because they expected to see the same old dangers that have been touted for years. Could he have said more about the whole steroid issue? Sure, he could probably make a series of those documentaries in order to cover everything, but I think he did a good job simply portraying both sides, which is almost never done although it's exactly what should be done with any argument.

AAS are as safe as you make them. Do your homework and you'll be fine.

I like the documentary but it is just that..it's not a guide on how I use and what to use with what..if your looking for info then read read and read some more. The safety lies within the users knowledge.

I just watched it this week and loved it. I'm about to do my first cycle at age 44 and have been trying to do my homework. I've always been pro gear and new the media was full of shit like they are on most subjects. I peel back layers on everything I'm interested in and form my own conclusions. People have opinions but you can't argue with science. I want to do gear the safest way possible that's why I'm here on the board. I loved all the old footage also. I want my wife to watch it she was against me using but I have been educating her and she is supportive. I ride a sportbike and I'm not going to stop because others and the media say its dangerous. I know the risks but the rewards far outweigh them :-)

It's a great documentary if only for the fact that it isn't media propaganda.
