Sub-q pin size

Dr just said its cool to go to sub-q so just wondering what sizes pins do you all use for sub-q. And I have test C at 200/ml. Thanks

27 to 29 gauge 1/2 inch. I use 27 g. Got a box of 100 at Meijer pharm. for about $45 insurance covers it but this was outside my regular Rx.

I use 26g 3/8" in length. Some use 29 and even 30g but I have not tried it myself.

I draw & inject my Test Cyp (IM not SubQ) with 25 gauge needles. It's SLOW going but not that bad, takes maybe a minute or less to load 70mg. I imagine to load with a 29 gauge or smaller you would need to warm the Test some to "thin out" the oil some.

A lot of guy's have posted on here that they inject their Test with insulin syringes, they'll chime in sooner or later.

I use 30 gauge, 5/16" needle. I don't have to do any warming or anything, it doesn't take much time to draw it, just pull back and hold it for a while. Its slow with even a 25 gauge needle, the 30 isn't all that much slower.

Good point Seoinage, the 30 gauge needles really aren't drastically smaller than the 25 gauges I use for IM injections. Early this morning I held a 25 gauge needle next to a 29 gauge insulin syringe needle, just eyeballing it, it's very difficult to see the 29 being drastically smaller.

Anyone want to bust out their micrometer & give us a measurement?

Lol yeah, now you are over analyzing for sure.

I know crisler made a point about using a larger needle for subq in his video, but honestly I don't buy it at all. He also made other mistakes in his video as well. Find a method and needle you like and stick with it. Personally I am probably going back to IM for a while. Just make sure your doses are small that you pin subq. I am doing 30 ml, but even that can leave bumps, so consider more frequent injects or multiple inject locations each time you dose.

He bled after his injection, which I have never had happen with the 27g needles I use. I can't remember the gauge of his needle, but I know it was bigger than I would use.

It was 25 g, and I have only had blood one time, when I must have hit something. His mention of using the z-track method with subq is pointless as it just can't possibly work.

I think he was using 27ga in his video but also states 26ga works fine. Or was it vise versa?

I personally don't like the abdominal area for injections as I always bruised and bled quite often. I also don't like the 'no pinch method'. I prefer to pinch, stick, release fat then inject.
